Yes, but my use of public transport is paid for by my medical insurance, and so isn't an issue. It's free from my perspective.

It is? You're not American, are you?
My monthly metro pass is covered by my job, but it's an employee benefit, not a benefit from my health insurance.

Pretty much everything I need is in walking distance so I just use my feet. I was very careful about choosing a place to live to minimize the need to travel long distances.

Being physically and psychiatrically handicapped, my medical insurance covers a lot of things that would not ordinarily be covered. It's authorized under what is known as a CADI waiver, the purpose of which is to enable people with significant handicaps to more easily remain independent in the community as opposed to having to depend upon the services provided in a nursing home. I don't know whether it's a cost savings or not, but it would seem reasonable.

Interesting. This looks like something exclusive to Minnesota. Good on you, Gopher State.
I know that certain plans, usually long-term care and private Medicare plans, cover forms of transportation... but usually only to and from medical appointments.

Moderator Notice I had to choose between issuing reply bans or removing the Serious tag. I chose the latter.

That's fine; I really only care about the first page or two.

Interesting, since you’re the one who buggered Page 2.

Well, that's one thoughtful reply. I stand in awe of your reasoning prowess.
