Women-Life-Freedom Movement in Iran
#61
RE: Women-Life-Freedom Movement in Iran
There's a belief here that college is a place that good christian daughters go to in order to be turned into godless lesbo-feminist manhating race traitors. Ever hear something like that in your neck of the woods?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Again good point. Smile

There are urban legends yes. Like “University is where girls become prostitutes” or other disgusting things like that I won’t even bother to mention.

You know my viewpoint on this: It’s about the female body. The same thing that pushes Polish populists to almost entirely ban even abortion pills in their country. The Ego resists change. Because the Ego wants to think that whatever it is it believes in, this has to be the only truth. So the viewpoint of the ego (in a sense) is greater than logic, or science or even real / direct experience.

So the sad reality is: We have this task to explain, explain and explain and try to bring these people to think logically. Intelligence is an enormous gift. But it’s also a huge burden as long as you are the inhabitant of this planet Smile

Another move by a bunch of teenagers that shows how easy it is for them to lose their temper. I don’t know if it’s ok for a grown up to feel provoked that easily  Smile

The Human Right’s Council of the U.N. is debating whether the regimes repression of the protests amount to crimes against humanity (systematic torture, rape, sexual violence and persecution on individuals who are younger than the age of 18).

My personal comment on that: The holy mount of Ramadan is about to begin in 2 days during which were supposed not to eat and drink during the day but during which we must (theoretically) strive not to have impure thoughts like thinking evil of others wishing them harm, being angry on them etc. etc. So the whole purpose of belief being to rise above our earthly conditions and attain a degree of spiritual growth and understanding that will allow to love ourselves and others more than “ordinary” people, how twisted can any political ideology be so that it can combine the events mentioned above and the day-to-day practices I am talking about here? What a nonsense.  Dodgy

Ingroup authorities taking strong action against perceived social transgression makes all the sense. You thinking that there's some other point to abrahamic religions is the shaky bit.

Funny how time goes on. I think you will like this article from 2001:

https://www.dw.com/en/the-devil-made-me-do-it/a-423655

In short: On guy publishes an add on the local newspaper saying “Prince of Darkness seeks Princess of darkness who hates everyone and everything”. Than these two meet and become best friends. Than they pick a guy who did nothing except being nice to them. They murder him in cold blood and in the court they tell the Jury that “The Devil made them do it”.

So I don’t disagree entirely with your position. But why is it working only one way? If political islamists are to be allowed to do things their way, what about all the other? Satanists? Wiccans? Catholic priests? Hindus? Lets just not restrict them. Why are we restricting them? Smile Smile

Dominionism tends to be defined by the ingroup, and the ingroups have been abrahamic, is why - which, ofc, includes catholics - but hindus are also dominant...oh...here and there - so they do tend to do what they want. You wouldn't expect to see wiccan dominionism, otoh, unless the wiccans got around to murdering and replacing the abrahamics - which, being wiccan, is unlikely to ever happen. They're non violent non breeders.

RE: Women-Life-Freedom Movement in Iran
I was only joking. As far as I’ve read none of those pseudo-religions (if you allow me to use this term) will never do such things. But it’s still a good example. These “Satanists” have killed just one guy in 2001 and I don’t know of any other similar event (except the famous Manson family) for instance.

But it’s the principle that’s important. This young man and young woman at the time have said that “they were just a tool in the hand of a higher force”. And pedophile priests were seen as “men at the service of God” and therefore the Church has tried to hide the hideous crimes they committed instead of persecuting them. And Hindus and Buddhists in Asia are committing serious crimes against Muslim minorities in India and Bangladesh, again, “because they serve a higher purpose”.

So this is where I tend to be critical. Yesterday I watched this video about book menders in Yemen. How they will collect ancient Koran books, work on them with ancestral methods, renew their hard cover and then dry them in the sun before returning these sometimes century old manuscripts to their owners. So I believe in some limits. Whatever it is you are doing (and this works for political / philosophical convictions as well), I like to keep a critical mind on everything at every time. Anyone who tells me “Well this is the rule and the rule is absolute and I have no other choice but to obey” is a totally rustic / philistine individual for me. I don’t think this is the way anything in this world is supposed to work at all (religion included).

Other event: Iran is getting Cyber-warfare technology from Russia in return from drones:

  https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-suppli...00299.html

I happen to be the second most important target of this technology exchange. Iranian Trolls will now be messing with our election process “In the name of God”.

/As I said. I think everybody knows what I am talking about Smile Smile

The Rapper Toomaj Salehi (33) is being subjected to a very brutal treatment in Iranian prisons. His left eye is gone, one of his ankle is broken. In fact, some Woman-Life-Freedom activists had to resort to hunger strikes due to the very brutal treatment of prisoners by the regime.

Here is a photoshot from a pro-freedom protest in Istanbul:
