Because there is no fucking reason to tell transpeople to suck it up and every reason to tell other women too. The offense of bigots are of no interest to me.

I’m sure that some people with penises have molested women in restrooms and locker rooms. That said, the vast majority of the cases I’ve heard of (specifically including many cases shoehorned into your narrative), they don’t actually claim to be any sort of unusual gender identity (at least not until the story gets noticed by some right-wing rag.) I can count the exceptions on my hands, and even then, the majority of those exceptions had prior convictions.

One thing I’ve heard of more than any verified case of trans women going into women’s spaces and molesting them? Men who aren’t even trying to present as female or claiming to be trans just barging into women’s restrooms and molesting them. Here’s a story by a blogger I followed relating several examples of men doing just that that were no more than one degree of separation from her.

And do you know what happens when trans women are forced to go to a restroom that corresponds with their birth sex? Just guess, just fucking guess. They get sexually assaulted. At a rate slightly higher than 1 in 4.

This is why I don’t buy into the premise that you’re just trying to help women feel safe. Because if you had your way, an entire class of women would be forced into a situation where they have a 1 in 4 chance of getting sexually assaulted.

Firstly, I follow news fairly closely, and I'm unaware of a spike in restroom assaults by people masquerading as trans. Do you have a source for this allegation?

Secondly, Also, how does your 'good for all' solution address male-on-male or female-on-female sexual assault?

Lastly, isn't your real concern that another Penis Bearer might see your dingle and put the moves on you?

No, the solution is to punish people when they commit assault and in the case of prisons keep an actual eye on the prisoners so they don't assault other prisoners. Not punish completely innocent people for the crimes of other people.

No, we need a solution that is not based on bowing to Karens and transphobes and their paranoia and disgust. What they want doesn't matter.

Keep sex offenders on a tight leash? Seriously, I’ve said before that the number of cases that fit the narrative where I could verify that they claimed to be trans I could count on my hands, and I’ve only got two of them.

If you want a solution, it’s just in enforcing laws that already exist against sexual assault. You don’t need new laws to stop the trickle of a handful of bad trans folk who, by and large, were already convicted sex offenders anyway. And you sure as shit don’t need to punish an entire category of people.

And on prisons, it might be good to look at the rates of sexual assault in women’s prisons. Seriously, those few trans women in jails would be the least of their problems when it comes to sexual assault.
