At 33 years of age, I am being bullied and tired of it.

RE: At 33 years of age, I am being bullied and tired of it.
I'm in the suburbs of a city North of Detroit. Usually we don't have any issues but many years ago a drug house moved in down the street. Hearing cars pull up at all hours was annoying, but eventually that calmed down. I think it still happens once in a while, but as long as they keep to themselves I don't really care.

I used to get bullied for being very different. My usual outfit is a cowboy hat and full length duster and most people just avoid me these days. I also carry concealed but you sound like you might be in a country where that's not easy. If you can legally get pepper gel/spray or a taser/stun gun those may work as deterrents to them (but only use them as a very last resort, especially spray because that might just make them angry.) Also maybe ask the local police to patrol by more often. If the local police don't want to do anything you can try going over their heads too (though the police usually don't like that.)

Your first priority though should be to save up money to move out and away. Maybe try to make some local friends who you can stay with for a while since you get out of the house and more friends are always nice anyway. Network and just be nice to everyone, then if anyone messes with you others may come to your aid.

Anyway best of luck.

^ Thanks for the advice. Your outfit is really cool. I too was bullied when I was kid for being different. The police is entirely useless until something happenes. I am spending more time with my cousin and when I'm home I'm mostly inside. If have to go outside I will punt on some headphones and avoid looking their way. I will invest in some pepper spray. I think it's legal here, my country is the home of the Trinidad Scorpion and my mom knows how to make pepper. So a homemade spray can be done.

If you can get/make pepper gel that works a lot better because it's sticky as well, though I guess the effective range is shorter too.  Here's a page with some more information (though obviously the law parts will not apply to you)

Also just in case you get any in your own eyes, they make medical wipes (Sudecon is one brand, and may be the only brand that I can find) that will help get it out and soothe the pain.  Milk has the same active ingredient as that so that will work in a pinch too, but it isn't as effective.

Though ideally deescalation and diplomacy should be the first items in your self defense toolkit if you're able to use them.
