That's great!  I wonder how long you can keep this up.  I tend to eat a thing for weeks or months at a time; like the same thing for lunch every day.  Eventually I hit my fill of that thing and have to move on to something else that I will then eat for weeks or months.  Eventually I cycle back around.

I love, love, love potatoes but that even that would get old for me after a time.

For variety, I've been supplementing the potatoes with an occasional garden salad. Today is cold and rainy, so I'll be having hot chicken broth with the potatoes. As per my doctor's advice, I'm eating my regular meals, with moderation, two days a week.  Hungry

I recently had to switch supermarkets because my favorite store is discontinuing their curbside pickup program. Fortunately, there is another store in the center of town which has curbside pickup. While placing my first order there, I discovered that they sell Yukon Gold Potatoes by the 5-lb. bag. They're about 30% cheaper that way. I'll probably order some next week.  Hungry

I understand you have some mobility issuses, try to find some sort of low impact aerobic activity. Get yourself a calorie counting app, it can help get you on the right track of meal planning.

I am not a tall person. Several years ago, at a routine check-up, I stepped on the scale and I was nearly 200 pounds. I changed my life habits that day.

It is not an easy road. Determination, is the most important element in your new outlook.

It’s not necessary to cut out starches. There are many starchy vegetables that are also highly nutritious.

There are a number of potato diet videos on YouTube, claiming that those who have tried it have lost up to 100 pounds in three or four months. Any thoughts or recommendations?  Hungry

As a registered dietitian, I have to say that this is one of the most asinine fad diets I have ever heard of.

Maybe you could check this book by a former junk food addict. I mean if it helped Bill Clinton then you can't go wrong.

How come when it comes to nutrition everyone just throws the value of expertise and credible sources out the window?

I've already consulted my doctor and he approved the diet, advising me to eat my regular diet, with moderation two days a week. It's working, so far. I've gone from 335 lbs. to 317 lbs. in about four weeks. I love potatoes. This is the easiest diet I've ever tried.

Doctors have the equivalent of about two nutrition courses throughout their entire education career. They are not qualified to dispense nutrition advice. I’m glad it’s working for you, and I’m not saying it’s necessarily bad for you; I’m just wondering, why potatoes? Why not beans, or peaches, or squash? It seems completely arbitrary.

From what I understand, getting in shape (being normal weight) is all about not eating junk. So it is a mental fight, like staying away from booze and drugs.

There is no special diet out there, but just staying away from donuts, cakes, bacon, bread, candy, red meat, sugary drinks, pork, and pizza. And some people just can not do it.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I love bacon. I must eat 2 pounds a year.
