Potato Diet

Having lunch at my brother's house today. We're having a chicken pie he bought at Costco. I'll be back on my potato diet this evening.

We're having linguine with chicken alfredo dressing laced with freshly cooked bacon and a bottle of Seyval Blanc.

I haven't gotten around to weighing myself lately, but yesterday I had to tighten up the drawstrings on my sweat pants again.

Weighed myself this morning. I'm down to 295. I've been mostly off the diet for a while, but I'm getting back on it this week.

I'm down to 290 lbs.

I haven't weighed myself for about a week. Ten straight days of overcast weather has put me in a state of ennui, not to mention some rather expensive dental work. We're finally in for several days of springlike weather, so my mood will probably improve. My favorite supermarket has been featuring sales on cut mixed fruit. I've been eating more fruit than potatoes lately. Cherries are on sale now. I'll probably be back to eating potatoes next week.

I've been eating a lot of cut mixed fruit over the past two months as part of my potato diet. These fruits contain a lot of anti-oxidants which lower uric acid in the blood and ease the aches and pains of arthritis, and also lower the chances of gout attacks. I don't know if there's a connection, but the swelling in my legs, which persisted for years, is now just about gone. Does anyone have any comments?
