A good question but I might phrase it differently. What must be true in order for quantum foam to exist and have the properties it seems to have?
Yes, important point. I have to get away from speaking of God or a First Cause as some kind of physical substrate.
No one serious talks about it that way.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Precisely my point. And that shows the inherent vagueness of the concept, which can lead to false conclusions.
In particular, I showed an example of circular dependency. If you stick to causality, that couldn't happen. But then, it wouldn't give the conclusion you want.

Interesting point. I don't know anything about quantum foam.
Is there anything that must exist in order for quantum foam to exist?
So by analogy: it's clear that hydrogen must exist for water to exist; if all the hydrogen suddenly disappeared, then water would disappear too.
Is there anything for which we can say "If X disappeared, quantum foam would disappear too?"
Not that we know of.

Maybe quantum foam is a first cause?

That's a pile of hot garbage, Bucky.
Unicorns are logically possible, even if they never existed and never will exist. Do you even know what logically possible means ?

Go ahead, give me one example of something you can conceive of, and which is logically impossible to exist at the same time.
