I've been on Twitter since Sept. 2009. My red line is losing the ability to block assholes. By "assholes" I mean accounts that post kiddie porn or Nazi propaganda or Qanon content that Musk not only reinstated, but kicks advertising revenue to. It could happen as soon as tomorrow. When it does, I'll never look back.

I doubt that he will actually remove this feature. Why? Because both Google Play and The App Store require social media apps like Twitter allow users to block other users. If they remove the Twitter app, that knocks out 99.25% of the mobile market.
I remember that last year, he said he’d make his own phone (presumably with its own OS, because using iOS or Android would defeat the whole purpose) if it reached that point. And if he has to make that step, there’s no way it’s going to be financially viable, richest man on Earth or no. Especially if his horseshit runs Twitter even further into the ground than he already has.

Whatever he has or had planned......assuming there was ever any plan, twitter is fucked. Elmo spent all that money so that people would like him, and it didn't work. Hell, even -I- liked him more before. Free speech works....apparently.

I think it's down to how easy it is to disarm us. Assholes can be charming. They can...seemingly...like what we like. They can seem like a better version of ourselves. We're so naturally inclined to see the best in other humans, lol.

The ability to block users is the only reason I bother with that shitty app. It used to be sort of a curated news feed. Then it became a siren call for magats, racists, conspiracy theories, misogyny, flat earthers, misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda.
Maybe some people enjoy constant outrage.
