Did you use reason to reach that conclusion?

Really? It’s unreasonable to learn to drive a car or to practice medicine or to compose music?

Are you by any chance an idiot?

Boru

He is, but I doubt it’s by chance.

Haiku is more of a humanism than rationalism. It is magical and rebels against tradition. Think of what rationalism rebels against. Is it not rebellion that it is primarily against?

Sure, it rebels against tradition, that's why we always get haiku with lines containing random numbers of syllables.

Jack Kerouac thought of haiku as free verse as do I. If you want to write a sonnet, write it but don't bother me with it. Buddhism is but dharma and meditation. I hate rules and regulations, pomp and ceremony.

If you hate rules and regulations, you hate haiku which adheres to very strict rules or it isn't haiku.

Rubbish. You just don't understand the history of haiku from Basho to now.
