The amount of people who have no idea how a stop sign works is astonishing. I'm not just talking the douche nozzles who roll through them. Nobody seems to know whose turn it is. I'm not sure how any of them have licenses.

Asked my husband if there was something specific he wanted me to put on the grocery order. He tends to eat a big lunch so in the evening he really isn't interested in a heavy meal and my current stomach issues often dictate what/if I will eat.

His request - bread, mayo, tomatoes, ham. I ordered all with the ham being a high quality brand that was on sale.

Just got a text that they are out of the ham....delivery will be here within the hour. Guess he'll be having tomato sandwiches. smh

What I want to do is just write. But, naturally, I'm my own person who can't do things as others do them. They might be able to have day jobs and still write, but for me the motivation to write is lost when I have to destress after a shift.

When I wrote the books I have, I wasn't working at the time. When you do what you love, it's not work. Yet writing only becomes work to me when I'm preoccupied by an actual job.

Harlan Ellison - who knew a bit about this sort of thing - said the secret to writing is to write something every day. It doesn’t mean churning out a hundred pages of dialogue, or even a single scene. Write a title. Write a short character description. Write just the last sentence of a short story.

(That’s a paraphrase. I’m sure his original advice was liberally sprinkled with the word ‘cocksucker’.)

I have a simple system. When another driver seems uncertain I cross my arms, hands on shoulders. Obviously not on the steering wheel, so they feel good to proceed. At 73 there ain't nowhere I'm going that requires a rush.
