Why is it that when I’m standing in front of a full-length mirror wearing nothing but socks, black socks look ok but white socks look creepy?

I didn't take into account that I had four inches cut off my hair the other day and just spent half an hour rinsing out the shampoo that I didn't adjust in amount. sigh
