I pronounce the second with a long i as well as the first. I know people who pronounce them both with a short i. I have not heard the usage of a long e sound.

Got some new tools (read toys) for quilting but haven't felt great the last few days so I haven't even tried them out yet.

On a side note - wondering why my BP is doing whacky things the last few days - should probably make an appt. with the cardiologist. Or, I could rub some dirt on it and walk it off like I usually do.
