Oh poo. I hope you get paid for the extra hour, or will it all work out when daylight savings ends?

Here daylight savings time begins in October. Australia must be one of the few countries in which each season last for precisely 3 months.

Summer begins in December and ends in February. Not unusual for Xmas day to be around 38C (90 F) Are we used to it? Well, I'm fucking not. This year, cold buffet lunch at my place. Except the individual puddings, which are served hot with vanilla ice cream. Neither of us drink. Being drunk when it's hot is awful.

I'm looking forward to getting back to working on my videos Monday. I've been sick with a sinus infection for over a week now. I still have a cough every now and again, but it's getting less and less frequent. Everything else is pretty much healed up.

The ex-wife just married a real mouth breather. She texted me as I would care. I'd get a restraining order if I could but they don't issue those for ignoring personal boundaries or past abusive behavior.

I wonder if "never contact me again" will be blunt enough.

Had you been paying spousal support and this signals the end of that?

I used 'don't ever call me again' with my mother. She has found a half dozen excuses over the years to call. I have cut those calls very short. But the comment had to be blunt to set boundaries with her.

Just be happy the ex is now someone else's problem.

I was married for 12 years before she got fed up and left. No kids by mutual choice.  I walked away with enough to just about buy this house.  If I  had to pay maintenance for say 2 kids, I would have been fucked. 

Here the Famiy Court decides the amount of maintenance. It's usually set at about 40% of your salary for one child. If you're working, the court will order a garnishee on your salary. Here, the mother usually gets the kids, but not always.    A lot of blokes will quite their jobs to void paying maintenance. Always struck me as stupid; hurts the kid as much as the ex.

Trivia: In Muslim countries the father always gets the children in case of divorce, at least in principle.

Hmmm...why is it chilly in the house?

Could it be because I turned the heat off and opened windows for a while late yesterday and forgot to turn the heat back on? It's 55 outside and not a lot warmer in here.

I should go fix that issue.
