You said that alcohol gives you a dulled perception (that's what 'dullard' means). I was simply asking if you can't get warmth and dulled perception drinking on your own. It doesn't seem like those two things require a drinking companion.

For whatever it's worth, I don't think you're a dullard when you're sober. You're a tremendous pain in the arse, but you're not a dullard.

Oh okay......thanks for clearing that up. I actually already went to the store and bought some beer and drank it and I'm already sober again. Drinking and talking shit is a lot more fun with company. I mean, I talk to myself a lot anyway, especially when I drink, but of course, it's somewhat pointless to do this alone.

Looking at the one shift I claimed, which was canceled, I'm still getting paid for it because it was a guaranteed shift. I still get paid for those even if I'm canceled. So, guess from now on, with this cancellation trend, I'll only claim guaranteed shifts.
