I'm kinda glad about that.
Clearly, you've never been to a kebab shop in Belfast.

Other than one or two people there, I can think of no reason to make Iowa a destination. They are in the process of ruining The Field of Dreams. The smell of manure isn't much of a draw for me. The governor is a MAGA wingnut. There are no mountains. There isn't a beach. I find it hard to name a selling point and I lived there for most of the first 30 years of my life.
Get thee to Okoboji.

People from my hometown went to what they called Campo. It's where the cool kids whose parents had a little extra money would put a trailer, prefab, or cheap cabin-like structure and they all thought they were movin' on up. It was on Lake Delhi. The Campo crap came from Camp of Delhi. I was there once or twice and unimpressed both times. Campo was a man made lake and there was a store that sold fuel, ice, bait, and snacks. Whoopee.
Some years ago, the dam broke and Campo ended up empty...some of the water went quite a way downstream and actually flooded my first father-in-law's home to the point there was no rebuilding it.
Now that there's water again, it's a thing. My brother bought a pretty decent place there and then built on turning it into a McMansion. It's still a bunch of people from my hometown who have an inflated sense of self. My brother and his wife actually live there year round. Most of the other consider it their summer home - gag.

We (work) were to have a gathering this evening at a local Tex-Mex place as a going away party for a long time employee who is moving out of state at the end of the month.
Of course, bad weather was forecast. I made it about 2/3 of the way there when the sky opened up and poured.
Got to the place and it was just a sprinkle. Went in and didn't see anyone there yet (I was early). Looked at my phone to see that I was maneuvering through the monsoon, a text came through that said the soiree had been postponed till Wednesday. Good grief. Back home I went but at least the storm had mostly passed.
I wasn't all that thrilled about it in the first place. Now I have to not be thrilled about it twice.

Prophets are God's pimps.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Husband came home from work on Thursday and had apparently lost his damn mind. I don't know who peed in his Wheaties but it wasn't me. He was screaming and slamming and swearing at me. So, I went into silent mode. Friday...quiet mode all around. Saturday he made a comment or two to me then moved on to reading me interesting little articles he found online. 30+ years and he still hasn't figured out that I WILL win the silent treatment battle.

Hypothesis on how to make a right-winger's head explode:
Step 1: Show them this.
Step 2: Wait until they start ranting about the Widow Twankey being a groomer just because she's clearly a man in drag.
Step 3: Point out the potentially problematic* elements of their portrayal of China.
Step 4: Watch the fun as cognitive dissonance starts to kick in between their defending the potential racism and condemning the drag.
* For the record, I doubt that Simon Nye or anyone else involved has anything against the Chinese personally.

Japanese porn is the best porn. They pixelate out the naughty bits, so you can watch it with the whole family.
