RE: Random Thoughts
Unwritten rule of the universe #34,011,908: If you order a copy of The Master and Margarita for vacation reading, it does not matter how far in advance you ordered it: it will arrive just after you left home. This may not apply for paperbacks, but will apply for hardcover editions.

This somehow happened to me twice. Of course, this time around, we had to cancel our trip up to Wisconsin, so I actually have the one I ordered now.

Lately, I've noticed when my head hurts there are certain pressure points around my shoulder and neck that relieve the pain.

Those are documented as acupressure points. You can probably find a Youtube video on it. It likely has to do with the buildup of tension in those muscles.

Delivery by Amazon has gotten so screwy. I had an order that was to be here yesterday by 8pm. Then it was moved to 10pm. Then it was - it's still arriving tonight. Then it was back at the hub at 8:46pm. Then it was being processed for delivery at about 4:30 this morning. I get that it's Prime rush but this isn't unusual lately. Now I may have my stuff by Wednesday or I can ask for a refund and start all over....and they will probably then deliver to my next door neighbor.

I am also fascinated by the deliveries that are being left in front of the roll-up garage door on the side of the house but are listed at being at the front door.

Things could be worse. I had to have my 20-pound bag of rice delivered separately from my other groceries, and as a result, there was no tracking on it like on the original order. I stepped out for an hour to pick up some Amazon packages and it was delivered 15 minutes after I left. We have package thieves, and it's a building filled with immigrants, many of whom I'm sure would be glad for a large bag of quality rice. So all the way home I worried about it. Fortunately, the delivery person left it in front of my apartment for instead of in the mailroom, or as they not infrequently do, just leave it in between the doors into the building in the foyer.

For some reason, though I've gotten some things already, the bulk of my purchases all ended up on Wednesday, with the exception of a second pair of Crocs, which was due today, then due yesterday, and now once again is due today. I'm glad we have an Amazon counter at Whole Foods -- they hold your stuff for a couple of weeks, so it's easy just to wait until everything has arrived and then go round up your stuff.

Shouldn’t we all have Noah’s last name? I mean, if the flood really happened.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

"Noah?"

"Yes, Lord?"
