Woke up to find out that my bank card was hacked. Thankfully the bank caught it first but that means I had to cancel the card and now have to wait for the replacement so I can go update all the things that are autodrafted. Splendid way to start the day.

Happened to me a few years ago. My bank caught one transaction that happened 200 miles away from where I live and immediately locked the card and contacted me.

I learned that I can reload my Amex Bluebird reloadable debit card from my bank debit card. I've been paying $6 fees on prepaid Visa cards as a way of controlling my spending (having a fixed amount to spend that I can track with one web inquiry helps me discipline my spending compared to the open-ended nature of my Visa cards).
