One a month? Nah. We have them on days ending in Y. ALL days ending in Y. Some days, more than one.
@FlatAssembler, you have a very naive view of guns, their dangers, and their worth as a deterrent,
It is naive to think that such a complicated problems as gun violence has such a simple solution as gun prohibition. And it is absurd to think that people giving up the most effective way of defending themselves is somehow going to end mass shootings.

The real world says differently. Countries with the strictest gun prohibitions (Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, etc) also have the lowest rates of gun violence. This is NOT a coincidence.
Gun restrictions won't 'end mass shootings', but will reduce overall gun violence.

I don't own a gun, I don't know anyone who does, no idea how to go about getting one.... seems a very good way to stop me going on a shooting spree if I wanted to!

Serious question: Do you think drug prohibition works? Because it seems to me that you could use the exact same logic to argue for drug prohibition.

But how do you know the causal relationship is not the other way around? How do you know that places that are unsafe don't tend to have more guns because they are unsafe, rather than the other way around? If you were forced to live in a high-crime area, wouldn't you want to get a gun to protect yourself?

It probably helps, but someone addicted to drugs probaby won't kill a room full of strangers so not a fair comparison

In a world of 3D printing, illegally manufacturing guns will be even easier than illegally manufacturing marijuana, don't you think?

It’s not a safety issue, it’s a gun violence issue. As regards gun violence, the US, literally awash with guns, ranks 131st (out of 197) in terms of personal safety. You could try looking things up instead of guessing.
I grew up in a place that was mind-numbingly unsafe. The idea of getting a gun never crossed my mind.
