You don't have to be into a certain sport to know a massacre. 

You can't call homicide because the Dolphins left no evidence of the Broncos beating the shit out of them 70 to 20 yesterday.  

That would be like an NHL hocky game where one team would beat another 15 to 4.  Or a baseball game 17 to 5. 

No Bronco fingerprints, DNA left behind. Nothing. 

I would hate to be the team in that losing locker room.

Husband told me about the Broncos game.  Apparently you outgrow the mercy rule.  Yeesh that was a bad one.

At least you can find a single reason. The Broncos just plain suck ass. This team could legitimately end up 0-17 and anything more than 2 wins will be reason to break out the bubbly.

The Phish did show mercy. They could have broken the all time scoring record for a single game, but chose no to.

Mercy would have been stopping long before that. It was still a slaughter. 

I can't laugh my team, Washington, got stomped by Buffalo 37 to 3. 

On top of that historically the highest scoring game in NFL history was when the Chicago Bears beat Washington 73 to 0 in what was only called the "championship" game in  1940.

It is rare even between a really good team and really bad team to be that bad in the NFL. 

College football though, has changed so much, lots of the games are mismatched far more than the NFL.

I used to be THE biggest NFL fan in the 80's and 90's. I worked 6 days a week for several years, with Sunday being my only day off. I still got up at 7AM on Sunday during the NFL season to watch 3 hours of Gameday on ESPN, then all 3 games during the day, and then Primetime until 10PM.
Eventually, I realized what this was doing to my family(wife and 2 kids) as well as to myself, and ramped down my enthusiasm for the league.
When all of the shit with the protests and Kapernick's temper tantrums started up, I quit watching the NFL permanently. Fuck 'em. Their salaries and off the field crap, including team name changes haven't done anything but make me dislike the league and it's players even more.
I still watch college football whenever I can, but I can't even watch an entire game anymore. All of the dumb ass commercials and fake happiness makes me sick.
Don't need it or want it anymore.
