Sometimes you have to break something into its main components and then reassemble it in order for it to work properly.
What’s happening in Palestine since 1949 has 2 components:
1) The Issue of nationhood. That is the soluble part. Both sides are claiming the right to exist as a nation. And both sides are somehow right in their own ways if you are willing to look at it straight. And that solution (technically) has already been solved in 1949 (First Armistice with the Arabs), 1967-68 (Allon & Rogers Plan), in 1978 (Camp Davis)and in 1993 (Oslo Accords).
2) The other component is not solvable. It’s not about ideology. It’s about “Religion”. There is a Six handed God who has given Israel to the “Jews” + there is a God with no Hands who has given that same plot of Land (called Palestine) to the “Muslims”. So this is the Crusades. The main question is (and there is a local joke on that): “Did Jesus ascend to the Heavens with the same ladder as the Prophet Mohammad?” So, who is the side who is “right” and who is the side who is wrong? Is that your Holy-Land? Or that is that my holy Land? The main idea here is that one side believes in the correct mythology. Therefore the other side’s mythology is “wrong” therefore it is but our temple that is the “true” temple and the other temple is just a pile of stones.
Now: All real spiritual traditions are pointing to this a insanity. In fact, this is “The” Insanity mankind has been suffering from since Adam + Eve. And I am saying this just to add some perspective. Most atheist will agree with me that this is nothing but complete insanity. So you cannot solve a problem when both sides are hallucinating. It’s not possible. In the middle ages, you just wait for it to end (The Crusades did end at some point). But with today’s capabilities, it’s not something we can sit downs and watch. It has already ruined the entire geography, all that you would call “Middle Eastern Cultures” have regressed to authoritarianism, Religious Zeal and Barbary (someone has to say it at some point). And the whole world is being affected in one way or the other.
So this needs to be worked on a religious level. I’m against political Islam. Therefore I’m against Political Judaism too (And that’s Zionism or Zionist extremism). And I would be against Political Christianity (if it still existed) and I’m against Narrenda Modi’s Hindu Nationalism plan as well.
Back in the 70’s and 60’s people would laugh at you if you told them that the world could return to religious wars and/or to a 1914-1917 style trench warfare in the middle of Europe. So one thing that annalists are pointing out is that old demons can be resurrected if you give them the right environment and condition for that.
This is a typical Your God – My God situation. It was gone for a while. Now it’s back. But in this case the solution is within us (as it was in the past). Most civilizations in the world have some sort of historical perspective on this because (for instance) in India all villages / clans have a God of their own (Narrenda Modi’s Country), In Europe you have Luther’s Reform, In the Near-East there is this culture of pacifism.
So if they resurrect old demons we’ll just have to remember our forgotten ideals and principles and answer to these people properly.
By the way: I would have been surprised if the coalition of a tough Guy like Netanyahu with Jewish Bigots + Jewish fascists would have ended in something less disastrous.
In fact my hope was for them to start kicking Iran in the butt and at least destroy their nuclear facilities. Instead they are bombing harmless Arabs once again. And this is also exhausting for us. I’m from a Generation who watched the same images, this time from Father-Bush’s bombings of the Children in Baghdad.
/ It’s not like I like to criticize other nations. It’s just that I believe in the freedom of talking about the ups and downs of any nation in this world. So don’t misunderstand me
