Sharp tools. Sometimes I'll get a mind to make something, go down to the basement, and spend the next 8 hours sharpening shit instead. We don't have alot of furniture, but I could shave with any of my chisels, so there's that.

Something similar: I find hand planing wood to be a meditative exercise. There are times when I’ll clamp a piece of ash or walnut in the vise and just…plane. Not building something, not envisioning a project, just…planing.

I like watching a quilt turn out like I had in mind...or better.

I also like to hear the wind chime outside my office/sewing room window when there is a gently breeze.

Freshly bathed pups make me happy too - the zoomies are fun to watch then they are so soft. Puppy-like exuberance out of an older dog makes me smile.
