I’m going to answer from bottom to top:
Al-Jabber is acting like the evil magician Jabbar in POP 2. He knows he is not supposed to destroy the planet. For it is a capital Sin. God did not allow us to destroy his creation. But Al-Jabber is doing so anyway.
The more secular people on top of BP etc. are also doing that. They don’t value life, they don’t value us, they don’t value the future of their children they value nothing.
So my first point is this: You may or may not understand this as a more materialist person. But we as spiritual people, we see something there. No it’s not that huge monster devouring resurrected zombies on the day of the apocalypse. But it’s still a very dangerous element. We like to call it “Our self-hatred disguised as our self-love”.
Where is the proof?
- This is the proof. I’ve had a lot of reflection on that. In T2 the robot says at to John Connor at some point
“It is in your nature to destroy yourselves”.
And there are more philosophical (non-theistic) approaches to that. JJ Rousseau for instance claim that human nature is good in it’s essence, but society has a corruptive effect. There are Anarchist theories on that.
Also AA is not really theistic. But İt’s none the less very spiritual. Because you have to agree that you yourself are not in control (which is another typical lie of the Ego – It acts like we have to be in control while rationally: We are not in control / that’s another deeper theme in Spirituality). Than they agree that a higher power can be in charge. Than they surrender to that higher power and (some of them) end up having their lives back.
And this is no small thing at all.
Now Hamas and Israel:
I will say this as many times as necessary: The Quran tell us “May those who fool you not fool you with religion”. From this I have concluded that an agnostic / atheistic approach to religion is better than most religion.
Yaggadish Vasudev says: -“I don’t know” is a tremendous possibility-
Besides: It’s the only possible starting point for any spiritual quest (and I say this based on my own experience).
So I will still on bow and arrow and I will go forward to sticks and stones. Believe me. It would be better.
Anyway: Mankind is evolving. Religions are evolving. We have to evolve. And my point is that: I need to evolve. Because an “intelligent” specie would be concentrating all it’s energy on phasing-out all fossil fuels yesterday. The same with plastics and nuclear power.
Our world system is nonexistent. The head of the UN is saying everything that needs to be said. And what do we do? – Nothing.
We still think that (for instance) more nuclear weapons will give us security. But let me ask you this? – Did they bring more security in all these waves of terror attacks we have experienced şin this millennium.
Now I don’t want to annoy you. But there are many non-theistic thinker who says that if developed nations started to use a fraction of their military budgets to avoid misery and despair around the world, they would end up needing smaller military budgets.
I’m not saying that countries should have no military. Of course we all love and support our militaries. But my approach goes in that direction too.
It’s a practical approach. Because ultimately, the evil outside us cannot exist without the evil inside us. And that’s the “basic religious approach”.
You may or not agree: But you cannot remove everything by physical action alone. How do you stop Hamas for instance? How many times do you nuke them until they disappear? Of course military action has its effect. But if you want a more permanent solution, you have to go inside, not outside. “You” need to “become” something new, so the world itself becomes something new.
I’m not trying to convince you. But that’s what real theists do all around the world.
And as I said: We don’t give our money to the first “enlightened” being we see. We also do not trap people like that and take away their time and resources. One of our core beliefs is “What you give to the Universe, the universe will give it back to you”.
Anyway: these are the deeper stuff.
The first two paragraphs of you post is true. You know I see that as a historical fact.
But I don’t believe scriptures are to blame for this. You know I am dealing with political Islamists every day. But there is no Political Islam in Russia, North Korea or Niger right?
If someone wants to oppress people or do evil to the whole world he can use religion or ideology or mass media or armies of troll on X or machetes or Wagner mercenaries or Chinese mining companies… the list goes on and on.
But you know my position on that: “That’s not the real Kung-fu” if you like. I think you know exactly what I mean
