I hit 40 out of 40 at 100 yards to earn "expert marksman", Air Force style. 164 yards, yes, tougher shot, but doable. Shooter did wing Trump, after all. Center-of-mass is how I was trained. Had the shooter aimed for center-mass I think the headlines would be a bit different.

If you watch closely, god turned trumps head at just the right time to explode some other cultist head behind him.

I trained in the Army, center of mass was how we were trained.  At 150ish yards with 5.56 and iron sights, center of mass is not very difficult, though I will say a lot of recruits couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.  An expert marksman could easily make the shot on a non moving target, IMO.

Especially with the M-16/AR-15 setup of a ring in the back, which eases the elevation issues in a very natural manner contrasted against open-v sights, which is what I learnt on as a boy.

It's also a very easy rifle to dial in.

They have sights now that would more accurately be called targeting computers. They can cost as much as the weapon itself though. I'm guessing he had the traditional iron sights.

Emotional state is everything. You would have to be emotionally dead to not be overwhelmed by the enormity of what you were doing. He HAD to know he was almost guaranteed to be killed by secret service agents after he got a few shots off. You would almost have to be one of Star Trek's Vulcans to keep your breathing under control under those circumstances.

My thinking went straight to it having been planned by the far right for the sole purpose of getting more people to vote for Trump.

I would doubt that the young man who was doing the shooting had enough experience and skill as a sniper to simply crease Trump's ear.

The greatest sniper ever probably couldn't intentionally shoot the teleprompter and have the glass hit the orange baboon's ear. The fucker wasn't shot, he was hit with flying debris! He sure as fuck lied about it after the fact, though.
