Boy, is that ever a stretch - considering he founded SpaceX and conceived of Starship. I'm guessing you meant to to say he had no role in the design & engineering process which might be true.

That is what I mean and he didn't

Catching a booster is nothing more than a gimmick. Starship itself went boom in the ocean, but the booster survived.

Starship will never be useful for anything because it is made of stainless steel and is thus too heavy to carry any cargo.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It was disposed of that way on purpose, not an accident.

FM, I hate to pick on you because we are in agreement on many issues but regarding your posts on Musk, you are often so far off base that you look like an idiot. This is definitely an example.

Do you seriously think the engineers who designed this system somehow miscalculated the weight to thrust ratio? And if they did, they haven't figured that out by now? Yet they continue to develop and launch this thing, knowing it's an Edsel?

Look, I get you hating Elon Musk. I'm extremely unhappy with him too. But your hatred of him is clearly clouding your judgement regarding his achievements. He is a supreme dick and a dork but he is also a space visionary who is accomplishing things most engineers thought impossible. If you hate him so much than take some advice from Sun Tzu and never underestimate your enemy.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

LoL, that's the same thing people were saying about the Hyperloop, like that guy Linus Tips. Starship is just the hyperloop for slow learners.

Yes, Musk got people duped. He had a contract with the government to spend $3 billion government money on landing the Starship on the Moon earlier this year, but instead, he spent that $3 billion on catching the booster (something that wasn't even mentioned in the contract because it was insignificant) and you are now having a nerdgasm on catching the booster while Starship is on the bottom of the ocean (and not on the Moon as Musk promised).

This is the chart plan of SpaceX that says how the Starship will be on the Moon in Q1 2024, and it also doesn't mention the booster catch.

Aren't you pissed that Musk lied and that he wasted three billion dollars on not sending the rocket on the Moon and spending it instead on what is essentially an expensive fireworks? For $3 billion we could have had a cool nuclear robot on Mars.

And to put Starship on the Moon and take it back you would need to refuel it 20 times during the flight.

So be honest, do you really think this will ever happen?

And also, during a recent interview with Tucker Carlson, Musk said that the reason he's going all in for Trump is because if Trump doesn't get elected he will probably go to prison - you can imagine why.
