Greetings
There seems to be a lot of interest about this religion, if you have any questions, concerns, anger...etc. please post here and I will try to reply asap.

To sum up this religion in one sentence: This religion helps you to have peace with yourself.

For those of you who are struggling with addiction or relationship problems, this religion can help.

All religions are about the same, my friend.

A tool used by the powerful to control the weak and nothing but bullshit from the word go.

Including yours.

Welcome, btw.

thanks for the salutations

You do have a good point were it seems like the powerful are controlling the weak and the poor with religion.

It seems like many religions around the world have been hijacked to control the masses in a certain political direction.

Firstly, I would argue that these religions have thousands of years of knowledge that shouldn't be ignored. Many of the mainstream religions have good moral points to illustrate how to behave and interact in your environment. Relative morality that can cause problems in society.

Secondly, I think majority of mainstream religions are taught in a negative fashion. Example, if you do this... you'll burn in hell,...you will be punished, you will have a painful death, ...etc. If you teach the youth in this fashion you'll kill their freedom of thought and creativity later in life. Typically these teachers are poor themselves and thus this kind of education will limit these youths as they get older.

To be successful in the scientific or business world, you need to have a clear mind and ask questions without getting punished for it. You need to have the freedom to think outside of the box.

Once we have a just world, where everyone can read and write, the powerful can not easily hide behind a religion. They can certainly demonize a religion but they can't hijack it like they use to.

I'm 61 years old my friend. I do not expect to live that long.

Nonetheless, I am impressed with your calm response to my provocation.

Now...I really mean it. Welcome.

Welcome to the forums, you seem peaceful enough and up for good discussions. So you would be Muslim then?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Thanks Minimalist and tackattack for your kind comments.

A year ago, an atheist I knew committed suicide. I hope what I accomplish in this thread can provide answers to individuals like him who are searching for a meaning in life. My goal is to give different viewpoints/ideas and a better understanding of this religion.

Welcome ruhollah, and please stick around.

I was alone here for quite a while. So I'm happy to see another Muslim who can post rationally and keep his calmness unlike some of the random spammers.

Hey look, you got two reps already on the first day.

Hope you continue to post. Smile

Salaam.
