As it is, I'm stuck with saying "yes, Cruz is right", which does admittedly pain me.

That's something we need to get past.

It was the Repugnicans that started this shit by refusing to work with President Obama because their feeble minds were unable to come to terms with a brown person at the head of government. We have followed tit for tat because we had to. But it's got to end at some point.

The traffic pattern in DC is a perfect example. As a former private pilot, I was shocked to learn of it. It absolutely boggles my mind that anyone in the FAA would consider it even remotely safe for a helicopter to duck underneath a jet on final with almost zero margin for error. That is not remotely a partisan issue. But here we are in an environment so toxic that we must must grimace and hold our nose when finding ourselves in agreement with the other side.

I get what you’re saying and I don’t disagree. But I’m not sure referring to them as ‘Repugnicans’ is a step in the right direction.

Four GOP centrists signed a discharge petition led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) to force a vote on extending expiring enhanced ObamaCare subsidies for three years — amounting to a major act of defiance against Republican leadership.

Agreed. Slurring an entire swath will only raise hackles and encourage defensiveness rather than sensibility. Of course some are repugnant. Most aren't bad folks, they're just afraid to stand up to the party, and so the extremists win the day.

Of course, they could help their own cause by exhibiting spine and working to conserve democracy rather than supporting a President determined to destroy it. "All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing."

^ I'd be concerned about nukes from Russia being used as a last resort. But maintaining the warheads is a highly skilled and labor-intensive task. Not to mention their current capability with ICBM boosters. I'd be more concerned about them repurposing the fissile material into dirty bombs.

Their last test was a pad-to-pad launch. Dirty bombs more likely, but thankfully much slower and much easier to intercept.

But as many nuclear threats they've made over the last four years, I think their actual "red line" is really a chalk line on dust. They know that Minuteman IIIs or Tritons actually work.

Little known fact, and classified at the time (I found out after that declassification, as I had no need to know at the time). When the USSR was crumbling, they sold the US a whole lot of enriched Uranium, as they were uncertain of control. Beyond that, I really have no comment.
