What exactly is meant by 'sane'? I'm certainly not dangerous or distressing, but the more I learn about cognitive science the less I think myself, or anybody for that matter, as 'sane'.
What is your job exactly Gawd? Must be pretty interesting if a sanity check is required of you.

If eccentricity is insanity then you're insane, otherwise I don't think you're all that mental.

I usually watch the news to find what this week's religious nut-job has done in the name of his god concept. Their abhorrent actions are usually a good indicator that I'm not destined for the happy farm just yet.
From a historical perspective I'm part of the proud noble race that managed to declare two world wars upon itself so I think everyone has varying degrees of insanity, its simply a question of how well we manage to hide it from our peers.

There's really no definition of "sane" or "insane." When I worked in law enforcement, all that mattered was if someone was being a danger to themselves or others.
But I've often thought that there is a fine line between genius & insanity.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I have a $1/year job with the government. In lieu of being reactivated.

I seriously questioned my sanity after realizing that religion is BS. I started thinking that there might be something wrong with me for being so easily brainwashed. Took a while, but I eventually decided that I'm fine. I know there have been times where I haven't been. Religion drove me to some serious depression points where murder and suicide seemed perfectly fine. Luckily I didn't do either.

Actually I agree with this. After all, the lunatics up in the nut-house often don't know that they're insane and they go about their lives with relative blissful ease. So in the end, if you don't know that you're insane or even a little off - what difference does it make? As long as you feel fulfilled and justified in your actions.
On a side note: Some would argue that Hitler was insane, but I doubt Hitler would've felt that way. "it's all relative to me."

Am I sane? Technically yes,but I'm a bit neurotic, and that's all I have to saying about that.
About 30 years ago, I saw a shrink and told him I thought I was crazy. He said "No you are not crazy. If you were, you would be the LAST to know"
Quote:Everyone is crazy except me and thee, and lately I've been having doubts about thee. (anon)
