Natural Selection Seems Insufficient

And you've still got the problem with your double standard that you dismiss well-evidenced science while giving a pass to all sorts of crackpot shit.

I was quite specific. It is impossible for the human mind to imagine two points in space where the shortest distance is not a straight line.

That's false, but even if it weren't false, the human mind imagines all sorts of things that are false. You'll need more than "Oh, it's hard to imagine." That doesn't cut shit.

It's hard to imagine a scenario where 2 + 2 = 5.

Oh that's right. That doesn't cut shit. To hell with intuition. Let's believe anything.

Intuition is frequently wrong. That's what cognitive biases are. If all you've got is that it's contrary to your intuition, then you ain't got shit.

Read some Kant, you moron. We don't rely on intution in math as simple as 2 + 2 because doing so would be stupid. Like curved space, it's rigorously proved.

Your repeated assertion, "which is evolution", is not probative here. You can drop it.

Otherwise known as a hunger.

Therein lies the rub.

(4 hours ago)OakTree500 Wrote: The universe itself, doesn't give a shit, but over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, humans [and other animals] evolved so that when you perform a specific action, you are "rewarded" with the feel good hormones in your brain...Its the reason why we do anything

Rewards? Incentives? Motivations? In a domino effect, all these are useless. Dominos just blindly fall, they have no control where they fall, and therefore it doesn't matter one hill of beans whether they find the destination "rewarding".

Determinism doesn't work.

In a determinism, there is no "reason" why we do anything. It's just random causality wholly indifferent to what we want.

And that's a problem because if wants such as thirst aren't somewhat dictatorial, probably NONE of the mammal species would have survived
Not sure how to make this more clear.

Methinks you are.

They proved gibberish? Good for them.

Unlike your gibberish, which isn't proven by anything but your "Trust me, bro."

If it's well-evidenced then it isn't gibberish. You're just being perverse because you realize that you'll never understand this shit and that makes you resentful.

Ok - if its on me here, can you explain what your point actually is then? Like I dont want to be a pain in the ass, but we're at a cross roads of "I dont understand" what you're saying and "I dont think you actually understand what you're saying either"

Demons boil water, but you have to turn up the heat to 212 to draw in those demons.

I can prove it - just put a kettle on the fire and turn it up to 212. See? Well evidenced. Works every time, always gets you the expected result.

I just proved demons exist.

Oh that's right. Maybe I didn't.

You spoke of rewards incentivizing behavior. A free agent has the freedom to dictate his destination, he can shift direction on a dime to pursue the reward/ incentive.

Determinism lacks that freedom and flexibility.

I'm beginning to think your "can't understand" really translates to "I am so convinced of evolution that anything counter to it will not compute in my brain."  So yes, it might be impossible for you to comprehend the argument, at this point. Literally. In that case, I don't think I can help you understand.
