Sae, A fundie would indeed be a follower of X, but X usually ends up being there own bigotry and hatred rather than the example of Christ.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

A fundamentalist would, by definition, adhere to the basis of X. That is to say... they would be the precise followers of X. If X happens to be Christ, then a fundamentalist would be a follower of precisely what Christ espouses.
People in general are intolerant, vindictive, and 'bigots'. It makes sense then, that some fundamentalists (which are people) would be intolerant, vindictive, and 'bigots'.
Maybe we can kick that around someday, more than I can deal with in this thread.

Hello HBAF, from Oz.
You do know that jesus was a fictional character, don't you?

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Last I heard Jesus was considered a historical figure by a majority of historians. Doesn't necessarily seal the deal, but it's not a bad start.
I suppose you believe He was a fictional character, so who do you think first created this mythical Jewish messiah? Maybe we should kick this down somewhere other than my greetings and salutation thread.
