I'll take you at your word. So, you claim to have been a rationalist and then decided that irrationality was the way to go?

Interesting choice. As long as you don't wrap yourself in dynamite and blow up a bus it doesn't matter to me what you believe.

The opposite Minimalist. But we could be here all day going back and forth on this.

So you do plan to wrap yourself in dynamite and blow up a bus. That doesn’t sound very rational to me.

ASA...

The Holy Quran says: "009:032 They seek to extinguish the light of God with their mouths; but God willeth no other than to perfect his light, although the infidels be averse thereto"

Perfecting the Light is Allah's Will..The Quran says even while the disbelievers may be averse. Do you believe that part of the process of Allah bringing forth His intention is inspiring the believers to help settle
the disputes among beleivers and disbelievers by using reason and argumentation?

Not does jumping to conclusions on any front, theological or even in jest.
Before you speak about being rational, maybe think that through.

Wa3alaykum salaam. Smile

We have reason, and if we can stay calm in dialogue we can be successful in argumentation. Alhamdulillah (Thanks be to Allah). The issue is that we often choose to lose it a bit, and therefore do no justice to Islam.

Coming from what basis?
I could guestimate your knowledge of the Qur'an right here - but I'd prefer you just post it, Minimalist.

RE: Hello
I've read a few passages. Frankly, it's pretty lame shit. On a par with the rest of the angry desert god ramblings.

And...before you ask...no. I don't think mohammad was any more real than jesus, moses, or zeus.

The opposite? I thought Minimalist brought up a good point. What about Islamic faith do you find more rational than atheistic reasoning?

Despite historic evidence of Mohammed (saws) (the most closely documented man in history), Jesus and Moses (peace be upon them). Truth, free thought, rationality, reason and logic - they truly do fly right out the window with you.

You've read a few passages, in English, with no Tafseer. So your knowledge of the Qur'an is non-existant. Don't try and pass that off as being anything please, unless joking, of course.

Okay, okay. I flicked through three random pages of The God Delusion too. It was rubbish!
(Disclaimer: I own, and have read it, and used it as a reference point a million times - I was purely making a comparison. But I do think it's rubbish.)

What point did Minimalist bring up at all? One that you have pieced together in your own mind?
He made a biased jab (which would be fair, if we were debating in my intro topic.)

Conclusive evidence, at the end of the day.
Any Muslim will know of the Scientific miracles of the Qur'an, that nothing in Islam goes against modern Science. Full stop. The fact that they walk hand in hand to this day, and that such things were revealed in the Qur'an 1400 years ago is just one miracle of the Qur'an.

Take embryonic development. The big bang. The roundness of the Earth. The seperation of the seas. And that's to name very few.
Read up! Smile

Take the fact that Islam, with it's laws (as ordained, by the Creator of all, including human nature - therefore He swt who knows what's best for our society and us as individuals), stand true for the good of man kind. As mankind and modern society has it's problems, Islam (when followed on it's own) has 100% of the solutions.

Islam is perfect, and came from a perfect source. Allah swt, the Creator.
