Wow....Who Would Have Guessed
Q: What is an even bigger bunch of scumbags than a church?

A: Their Insurance Company.

Quote:A church embroiled in the aftermath of an abuse scandal has been warned by its insurance company to stop admitting liability or face loosing coverage.

Vienna Presbyterian Church in Virginia discovered five years ago student ministries director Eric DeVries had engaged in 'inappropriate, romantic' relationships with under-age female students.

Well... I thought it was still undecided, both scumbags sure, but the level of scumbaggery was yet to be measured empirically.

We need a unit of measure for scumbaggery!

Edit: I came up with a system of measurement! And its metric! Ok so the ultimate level of scumbaggery is one 'Yahweh', 10 'popes' to a 'yahweh', 10 'fundies' to a 'pope'. Problems do arise if you say that the 'Yahweh' is in fact infinite though...

I give the insurance company a score of 8 fundies.

They should stop admitting liability. It wasn't the preacher's fault, after all. Goddidit.

I would revise that to, "It was the preacher's fault, after all, goddammit."

But that's just me.

Didn't the Presbyterians learn anything from the Catholic church? If someone accuses your priest of diddling children, simply move them to another parish and cover it all up. When it happens again, move him somewhere else. Then when a bunch of scandals erupt in the news media, claim that the media is making up the reports. Your parishoners who don't have kids that got diddled will turn on those who do and accuse them of lying. Jeez, it's not rocket science, people, it's covering for pedophiles to protect your image.

Speaking of insurance companies, why do churches get insured against "acts of God?"
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Where did you get the idea that they do?
FYI: insurance companies specifically do not insure "acts of God". They cannot be insured against. It is small print writ large.
Simply because God is a flakey, schizophrenic sadist, of course. Read the bible!

So if your house gets blown away in a tornado then you're screwed? I do know for a fact that they pay off on hail damage to cars.
