Prepare yourself.

Its like talking about politics. Nothing good ever comes from it. Big Grin

Besides, those responses don't appear to be standing up for your beliefs. And people who start those conversations are never interested in what you believe. I'm a theist myself and I never get into religous discussions like that unless I choose to go to one like a Bible study etc. Otherwise those people are really irritating. Even if you agree with them that's not enough. It can get really irritating!Smile
Quote:I agree a lot of those responses are arrogant/rude, but they're intended as a joke Pete - not as serious advice for how we should respond.
I see. Thanks.

I'm curious about something. A lot of those responses require some boldness to say them in the first place. If you're so bold as to use them aren't you also bold enough to simply say I don't want to talk about it. and leave it at that?

Most of those responses are jokes. I don't think any of us would use them in a proper debate. Atheists have the strongest argument and these responses are rude and unnecessary. Some good points but the rest is pretty much a joke. If I was debating a theist I'd go in heavy. This stuff is quick rude and weak. This stuff is pretty much a joke. A true atheist responce would be hard to debate and wouldn't be just a quick responce.

As an atheist I wouldn't simply walk off if someone started debating religious beliefs. Atheists have the strongest argument and I wouldn't back down knowing that I can pose questions and responces that they could never counter.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

You seem to underestimate theists. Lack of countering an arguement could only show that the particular person didn't have a response. It doesn't mean that a response doesn't exist or that one hasn't already be put forward somewhere.

Iv'e debated theists for quiet sometime and through my experiance they have the weakest arguments.

Most of the time they evade questions and responces. I haven't lost a single debate with a theist. They either ran off or just continued to evade everything I question and respond to. Atheist have the strongest argument and if a theist is willing to debate about religious matters then I'm more than ready for it.

How could you possibly respond when creationists are censors?

He said theists not creationists. There's a difference.

Only marginally. Anyone who accepts Evolution should see how it has disproved every single account of every religion. They are completely wrong about how we all got here, so why should we trust them in telling us where we are going?

Actually he said non-atheist.

However due to experience the majority of these claims come from Creationists.

I question that conclusion. Keep in mind that creationists are loud mouths. They maybe the most visible of Christians but that doesn't mean that they represent the majority of them.

About a third of Christians are Creationist.

Loud mouths? A little generalizing isn't it?
