Pat Condell: Goodbye Sweden

I recently started look at some of Pat Condell a person I haven't been aware of before. I started by seing a video which were quite intresting were he defended aggressive atheism. THat was fine with me and I got curious about his other videos. First it just looked like he were a guy that defended atheism, free-speech and were openly anti-religious. BUt then when watchin first a video about islamopohibia, which he said doesnt exists in USA, which is hard to believe since it's a country that is against everything that's not christian, generally speaking. Then I saw a video about Sweden were he just expressed concentrated hate against muslims in Sweden, which he claimed is responsible for most, if not all rapes in Sweden. He also went on about that we aren't a state anymore and that we soon will be a muslim country. He also had some factual misstakes, especially regarding the newspapers which doesn't have anything to do with the government, which he claims.

Anyway the video is here, take a look for yourself. I think he is narrowminded and rascistic, I think the latter part since he for starters see muslims as one group and attacks immigrants in my country without any facts. I don't like islam, I disslike that erligion as much as Christianity. I am however more acceptive towards does who pracitce their religion without forcing others to think as they do or having any negative impact on their enviorment.

I always thought that the Swedish press has a subsidy system similar to Press support system of Norway. Wikipedia agrees. He didn't say that papers were state-controlled, merely state-subsidised, which, unless the wiki article is wrong, is true.


Onto the main content of the video.
Even if he were attacking muslims simply for the sake of attacking muslims (which he isn't), this would not make him a racist.

Now, the number of rapes in Sweden has increased whilst you've had muslim immigration. The Oslo statistic suggests that there could well be a causation underlying this correlation.

Does this mean that all muslims are rapists? No, of course not. It does, however, suggest that there is a problem; if you want to close your eyes and pretend it isn't there, go ahead, but you have no right to complain when others don't follow suit.

Defence:

If i remember correctly he had a rant about people conflating fear of islamic values, laws and a group of people with them having any political power, which he counts as perfectly rational, with islamaphobia, as phobia's are irrational fears of 'x', not saying that no islamaphobia existed. Fear of sharia law, honour killings, gross inequality, antisemitism, female circumcision and arranged marriages happening in your country (or people being flown out to have them done) isn't irrational (Not that I'm saying all/any (except for sharia obviously) of those are islamic things, I'm not sure which is cultural and which is religious, but there is a perceived correlation, they aren't all modern western values and practises at any rate).

Is the difference between the norwegian and Swedish news reports not factual? And yeah like the other guy said he said subsidised, not biting the hand and what-have-you.

I'd need to investigate his claims first.

I'm sorry WiffGiff, but I agree with Pat Condell. It wasn't the Muslims he was after this time, it was actually you Swedes.

Sweden is so "democratic" and "diplomatic" that you've forgotten about the majority in your country and let the minorities take over and give themselves freedoms they haven't deserved. You are so afraid of conflict as a people that you bend to anyone's and everyone's will, just to have an illusion of peace and quiet. Your freedom of speech is already compromised by the fact that your reporters are not to mention the socio-cultural background of e.g. a perpetrator of some sort, which can be vital to understanding why the crime happened.

I'm not saying that everyone with an immigrant background is a crook, but when you gather all together in one place, not taking care of integrating them into Swedish society, you get the horrors you have in Rosengård, Malmö, where i.g. the fire trucks won't enter without a police escort.

The original Scandinavian Swedes may be the most secular people in the world, but thanks to your foreign policy Sweden will become Blatteland very soon.

I've watched Pat Condell for a long time. And one thing he certainly isn't, is racist. Anyone who calls him racist is just playing the same old card that immigrants, muslims and the minorities always have.

Well the state atleast don't have any significant role on the newspapers, they certinly don't control the content or force newspapers to cencor as Pat implies. It is strange that people say that the papers arent allowed to tell the background of someone commiting a crime in sweden, like if they are immigrants and so on, beacause that something that is written every day in newspapers, if it significant.

Those who have commited the crimes that got the most attention, as the guy who is the worst serial killer in swedish history and those commiting some really horrible murders have all been what you would describe as a "ethnical swede".

I will look more in to the crime statistics. But what I do know is that, which a newspaper realsed for some years ago, did crime statistics show that ethnical swedes commit most crimes and rapes too. Procent-wise immigrants have a slightly higher tendencies commiting violent crimes while those born in the country commited more ecnomical crimes. The numbers is the same when they looked at the social situation and what class they belong too. Working class had a higher thendency at commiting violent crimes while middle class and upper made other like ecomical.

However I will look at thee police statistics when it comes to this. Which is necessary and not presented by anyone. Pat didnt do it, just used the argument that nazi and fascist parties use in Sweden.

Rape is not commited by "muslims" because that is just stupid to say. Do you mean Albanian? Iraqi? iranian? Pakistani? Chinese muslim? Somalian?
Sunni or shia? Or Curd?

It depends on uprining and cutural values not what kind of religion. If it were christianity would be the worst religion in sweden since they are commiting most of the crimes.

Also what wrong with multicultural values an try to treat our minorities right? We have been giving people the freedom of praciticing their culture and religion in their country. Nothing wrong with that. We have probably the most stable country, its a reason why we have a better society then the USA and the other european countries.

Another thing is taht we hadnt much of a identity before the new kind omf immigrants came (we always have had immigrants), we didnt have a national day until 2005 and we always embraced other cultures. In the 60's and 70's it was the british and american culture. We know so good english that american coming here don't bother learning swedish sometimes since pretty much everyone understands them. Thats more of a threat to sweden that english is taking such a big role in our society.

Sure there are many people that come from muslim countries which are strict, that recently have come here that have som strange culture or that doesnt suit a modern society. But those who have lived here 2 or 3 generations have adapted to our society by still have contact with their cultural roots.

Rape is committed by muslims just the same as it can be committed by atheists, jews, christians, budhists, hundu's, etc.
Sure it's a generalisation but since when is that a new thing? He's not implying all muslims do commit rape, he's saying a number of them do. And there is sufficient evidence to back that up.
