Number one offenders of being offended while they commit most of the offenses ------ Muslims!

With Christians holding a close 2nd place.

If anyone wants a clear example of being ridiculously offended and over sensitive start here at post 15.

Discussion with religious family nut.

Me: Mary, if she even existed, was not a virgin.

Cousin: Your offending my religion!!

Me: Your religion offends my intelligence.

There is nothing at all wrong with being offended. It gives us a sense of who we are and what we believe is wrong and right. No one is above being offended. It is all in how you handle it.

Even though it was not explicitly stated, that was how I interpreted the point of this thread.

Quote:The only reason the offendee is offended is because they allow themselves to be offended.

That sounds an awful lot like, "You should not allow yourself to be offended." That is essentially what I was replying to and the overall sense in this thread that some people are above being offended.

I saw the point of this thread as the offendee should not blame the offender because people should not be offended in the first place. I find this to be silly. If someone calls me a cunt, I will be offended and blame the offender because it was their intention to offend. In some cases, offending is not the intention and I suppose people should react accordingly.

RE: Being offended?
I am not trying to say "You should not allow your self to be offended" I am merely stating that the only reason something is offensive, is because the "offendee" perceives it as offensive. The "offender" most likely states the offense because they themselves don't find it offensive. I'm sorry but some of you are missing the point.
