LOUISVILLE, Ky.— A former U.S. soldier was
indicted by a civilian grand jury Thursday for
the rape and murder of an Iraqi girl and the
murder of her family in March.

The indictment charges that Steven Green, 21,
and four other soldiers who are still in the
Army sexually abused 14-year-old Abeer
Qasim Hamza al-Janabi, then killed her and
her father, mother and 6-year-old sister.
Green is accused of trying to burn the bodies
to conceal the crime.

Yeah yeah people absolutely do terrible things in wartime, I think it would be a little unfair to characterize what the soldiers are doing overseas in the manner that John did....perhaps if he added nation-building and peacekeeping to the list it would seem less insulting?..lol. You know it may be interesting to tally up the total number of troops and support personnel in the AO, cross reference it with an american city of a similar population, and check to see if crimes rates are higher, lower, or in line with what one might expect in a group of that size.
