Oh, wow. That was unfortunate.

Yeah I almost lost interest, and then the whole thing redeemed itself.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Re: The OP,
Well Cinjin, one way to look at it is your father's attitude in prioritizing a fable over his child is substantial reason to be an atheist. Considering what Theism has done for him. You'll never change his mind, when he believes his soul depends on cleaving to the hope his sacrifices are worth it in the end when he'll be rewarded after he's dead. And the strange thing is, funny really, that when that day comes if he still possessed human faculties, he'd be surprised how wrong he was. While now, he's clueless as to how much he's lost. Deepest sympathies. "In life you can never be too kind or too fair; everyone you meet is carrying a heavy load. When you go through your day expressing kindness and courtesy to all you meet, you leave behind a feeling of warmth and good cheer, and you help alleviate the burdens everyone is struggling with."
Brian Tracy
I really appreciate so much support.
You all are a blast of beautiful fresh air in what would otherwise be the dank toilet stall that IS my father's religion. Thank you so much. I find far more decency and kindness in "the lost pagans" than I ever found in the creepy crawlies that reside under a steeple.
I would love to have beers with a bunch of you guys. Cinjin, you're right at the top of the list. What kind of beer do you drink?

I will also drink any beer you put in front of Cinjin...it doesn't even have to be cold.
