Trying to update my sig ...
A bad day.

Not much different from my nephew Redbaron's story on here. His parents forced him to sign a "contract" stating that he'd go to church or they'd kick him out.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
I find that just plain weird. :S
The thing is, my sister has been religious, for a long time. But she didn't go to church very often but now she's back in a church and has started talking to one of her friends, who's REALLY religious. They have convinced her that my atheism was not a good environment for her to be in. I presume they think it is because I would cause her to doubt her faith or some such. That's about all I know, her church and her friends say "He's gotta go" so , she says to my mother "Tell my brother that he has to leave because his atheism ..." And that's as far as I can make any sense of it.
My mother is actually angry at my sister for this, and thinks that my sis has done me wrong. If you even have to think. It's a fact. But she's also a Christian and I don't think things are so clear to her as they should be. But I am at my parents for right now. Can I stay here? Probably not. Either they will make me leave in a few days or I will just get tired of their religious crap. Ex, how my 10 yo sister is up in the church from head to toe and going to bible 4 Nights a week, Plus Church+ Bible study on Sundays. She LOVES it, but really it sickens me that she was introduced to such a thing at her age. She's bound to be blinded just like my other sister. -------- And another thing it doesn't make any sense. My sister is the one that asked me to stay there because SHE was afraid. I also, 1. Cleaned every room for her. 2. Cooked for her. 3. Walked to the store and shopped for her when her case worker wouldn't. (I have no car, so imagine carrying groceries for 3 blocks in the baking sun.) 4. Took care of her damn cat. 5. Didn't complain about her bullshit. and this is how I am repaid! Gee! Awesome Anyway.. Thank God I have a Safe Home Go To... Oh, wait.
Let's hope she regrets her decision. It sounds like you were a pretty nice resident to have.

Well, religious groups attempting to isolate their members from opposing viewpoints is fairly common. Scientologists for example would call you a supressive person, or supressive personality (sp for short). The idea is to set up an echo chamber for the believer, where the only people she has any interaction with serve to re-enforce the groups collective beliefs. She can also then be leveraged as an asset to this group. It's all deeply disturbing stuff. This kind of directed social isolation has led to some pretty unfortunate events in our history, both recent and ancient. If you feel that the only reason you're being treated in this way is because of your atheism, you may want to look into this stuff, and possibly find a way to gently approach it with her.
I wouldn't advise any sort of direct confrontation, as that is exactly the kind of thing that she has been led to expect from an atheist from the echo chamber. You would only be re-enforcing the programming. Indirect challenges, gentle what-ifs, that sort of thing. That's if you wish to approach her on the subject at all, of course. What's the name of the church she's attending by the way, if you don't mind divulging?

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
