By them I meant the government, the ones who are running this circus. If GE didn't get kick backs from the corrupt assholes who run your country they would have ZERO incentive to run a media company that fired people for being "outsiders", they would just be self-interested profiteers seeking ratings to bolster their income - It is OBVIOUS that when a commercial news station fires someone despite their ratings, not for an ethical violation but for being anti-administration, especially when you yourself thinks that they are just money seeking assholes, that their financial kick backs from that administration ARE FAR MORE PROFITABLE THAN ADVERTISING REVENUES.
If your government simply didn't have the authority to give GE massive tax breaks and subsidies then they wouldn't give a shit who was in power and they wouldn't be worried about making the administration look good, they would operate their news network like they operate entertainment channels, 100% ratings no matter what to make the most advertising revenues.
Just put two and two together for once sunshine, the government aren't an obstacle to greedy corporate interests, they are a fucking godsend. If the government couldn't give any money at all to any private interests then you wouldn't fucking be in this mess, but YOU want the government to take more power, you're only giving them bigger fists to swing, more incentive for corruption and greed and more people employed giving more opportunity to corporate interests who would love a bigger pair of hands to dip into your cash reserves, all in the name of the "greater good" and "growing the economy" or "terrorism". The bigger the government is the more often this happens, it's MUCH WORSE for the people than what even the most suspect player in a free market could do.

TYT is a great counterpoint, I've been following their channel for a couple of years.
