You can leave cakes and whiskey out for the good folk at the address I'll PM you..lol. You can be sure that these folk exist, because the glass will always be empty when you return. Also, the good folk prefer wings to cake. (and naked pictures)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Quote:I can't prove that God exists either, and I don't know anyone that can. It is... unprovable.

How very convenient for you, Frods.

Somehow, that ambiguity is lost on religious assholes who think they are doing the unprovable god's will by oppressing all the people they hate in HIS name.

Hi and welcome aboard. Do you suggest that this higher lifeform created us with some purpose in mind? I don't believe in a creator myself, nor do I think there has to be a reason for our existence.
I also do not long for an afterlife...why do you and what sort of afterlife do you want?

HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Because he wants to keep the delusion of living forever. Intelligent people have moved their aspirations for immortality to cybernetics and mind preservation. Stupid people are stuck still believing in cloudy angelic places on high.

I don't care about that stuff. Can't be arsed to imagine a world without me.

I honestly dont know. Its either the traditional concept of God, which means most of the worlds population are going to some form of hell (depending on which religion is right). The traditional idea of God and creationism is heavily flawed, which is why I dont beleive in it.

Alternatively we could have a creator who is infallable and no more omnipotent than ourselves, he/she/it could actually be a sick bastard, and thats why bad stuff happens. But it would seem strange that it would create us and then leave us to it. When I play sim city I have the option of adding extra things to my city as time passes. Its the same with religion. It seems strange they came here so long ago, yet have not returned. Seems mighty convenient to me.

In reality I believe we are merely a freak accident. With all the planets out there, statistically there had to be life on at least one or two of them. If we were created perfectly, why have we and other beings on the planet been able to adapt and evolve?

I hold the hope for an afterlife because I cannot deal/grasp the concept of not existing. Ideally I would be in a happy place surrounded by loved ones. The thought of losing them or not being able to interact with them is upsetting.

OK TT, I'll agree with you about us being an accident, no god creator.

As to your hankering for an afterlife, you seem reluctant to let go of this one chiefly for fear of losing loved ones. Well you will have to come to terms with death and death of loved ones. Death is 100% certain at this moment in time. I see no attraction, personally, in even a very pleasant afterlife. I really don't see the point in living forever. I would get bored and ask for the exit! And who is to say an afterlife would be pleasant? If it was unpleasant, then access to the exit would be even more essential.
Just enjoy this life the best you can.

Well its not just that. Its the fact I cannot grasp non existance. How can you fathom not existing, if all we know is existance? Either way however many billion people have already gone through it so I guess we are all in the same boat regardless, and we can't stop it from happening.

As someone else mentioned, being immortal does actually sound like quite a good idea Smile

Being "immortal sounds like a fucking horrible idea...imagine having to deal on a daily basis infantile imbeciles who have no fucking idea and look to you for guidance...any wonder the "church fathers" killed off their god-boy

Can't wait to leave this shamozzle of a society.

There are plenty of ways to view an "afterlife" or non-existence that do not invoke bronze age gods as gatekeepers and landlords. Try a few on. You never know, it may help.

I always have to come back to your posts. You inevitably add something like "naked pictures". But you didn't specify of who.
