No so sure about those 'facts' mate. Got some dim memory of reading how Mediterranean women would use a honey mixture to remove unwanted hair and how Greeks would 'scrape' their bodies prior to olympic competition.

Salty you seem scary to me because you appear not to think for yourself, but absorb and regurgitate the unsophisticated (being charitable for a moment) and ignorant theist perspectives. There are many other more sophisticated arguments for theism. Personally I find none of them at all convincing, and the god portrayed not only at odds with their source documents but also so far from human experience as to be meaningless and contradictory, but then I'm an atheist and the theists would differ in their interpretation. If you wish to justify your theism then there are better places to start than, "why are there still monkeys if evolution is true"; it's just embarrassing and even if true (which it is ABSOLUTELY NOT) would not prove a god nor prove the xtian one.

Let me clarify myself, I was just referring myself to the several centuries in western europe before the 20th century. Essentially medieval to the early modern era.
I remember from a novel set in classical times entitled Household Gods, that women in the roman empire would shave their pubic areas. Not to mention the statues they made were painted, among other things.

No offense intended and no demand for clarity...but questioning my own memory...(waiting to be flamed so to speak for getting my "facts" wrong)
Not as stoopid as I thought I was eh??

If Eve was created as an afterthought, I must ask if Adam had a penis prior to the creation of Eve. If he did, for what purpose? With no females around it would have been unnecessary. If he didn't, did this deity give Adam a penis at the time he created Eve? Because that makes even less sense.
Adam: "Hey! What's this thing dangling between my legs?"
God: "Uh.... you'll figure it out."
Sounds like you have some bright kids, btw.

"We trust God more than scientists. Whatever he says is true!"
Too bad that we have not a single word that can be proven to have been said by a god - everything that is claimed to be so has a HUMAN as a source
The fact is - we already KNOW that much of the bible is fairy tales
WE know that genesis is - the creation story is not consistent with the actual conditions on earth in MANY cases - THERE is no firmament of water above the sky - the earth is not stationary and unmoving in the sky - the sun had to come first - and humans cannot safely ingest all seed bearing plants as food - and that is just the first page. Certainly the timeline of the bible that suggests the earth to be only about 6000 years old is proven not to be true - we can phsyically count annual ice layers at the current poles to well over 200,000 alone - and we know that the poles of the earth have moved over time.
WE KNOW that the story of the great flood is NOT TRUE -PROVEN Not to be true. IF it were true - there would have been a complete ending of ALL other civilizations of the earth due to them drowning - but we have complete records of many civilizations that continued unaffected for centuries before and after the supposed even of 2348/9 bce.

You aren't going to get far throwing FACTS at those people, Thom.
They hate facts the way a vampire hates dawn.

Haha - Vampires too!
Of course -- everything they say did happen - in their book of fairy tales
THERE are so many fairy tales in their book - that the editor of the book failed miserable in correcting the contradictions and nonsense in them
