The Church of England will this week vow to fight "new atheism" in an attempt to combat the rise of secularism and defend Christianity in Britain.

Helpful tip for your sanity: To know whether or not the content of any given news article is utter drivel, don't actually read it, simply scan for an image of Rowan Williams' ugly mug first. You will save countless brain cells and therapy costs.

Seriously he wants his moronic followers to combat the rise of secularism in the UK of all places? What planet is he on? >___>

Yeah, bring it on! How they wanna fight? Words or fists? I can do both.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Can you imagine them even considering such a thing 20 years ago?

Being the way that we Brits are. There is no fight. More people are now likely to whinge about bishops having rights in the lords. One thing for sure is, that as a nation, we now, in general, care very little about the church. The only real reason were not a secular nation officially is that we have nancy politicians who are scared to offend anyone.

I thought Islam was already combating the rise of secularism in Britain. How many people do you need to jump secularism?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

"Christians are suffering from an increasing level of discrimination" - Right..they have guarenteed seats in parliament and they are complaining about being discriminated.

How many guarenteed seats do the atheists get in parliament?

And we are the vile ones? They just know how to make you feel comfortable :p
Somehow they are the minority under attack this time? It's not like we are burning them on a cross, we just have a easy time debating. Why would they care about this so called "discrimination" are they supposed to have faith in what they believe in? They complain about discrimination when it's the other way around, when do they plan to grow up? First they hate Atheists, then gays, and then other people that don't believe in their "god", and then they demand respect? I don't give respect to people that use violence to get people to believe in what they do. Why don't they worry about their selves? The only way they are ever going to get any where is to start burning us on the cross again. They have experience in taking away our Human Rights.

Here is a simple fix for the Clergy, SHUT THE HELL UP! They live in a diverse nation, what do they expect? Just a bunch of kids, that aren't getting what they want.

"ohhh, they don't believe in god, they are taking away our rights and discriminating us!"
"Gee Willikers Batman, what are we going to do!"
