Are you an assertive atheist or a passive one?
#21
RE: Are you an assertive atheist or a passive one?
I am an assertive atheist. Feel free to attempt to trap me into some morally gray questions about pseudo-science. I doubt it will turn out how you want.

I am an assertive atheist because logic states that everything that does exist has matter. It is illogical to state that something can exist yet not exist, therefore there is nothing besides biology in our construction or abilities. For this reason, I am certain that I am correct, and certain that theists and spiritualists are merely too immature to grasp the concept of being less than cosmic.

I do not offer most theists respect, because their wishful thinking costs lives every second of every day, and our social composition ensures that it runs contrary to the ultimate goal of survival.

Definition.

Passive atheist. One who does not actively seek out theists to try to convert them.

Assertive atheist. One who will actively seek out theist and try to convert them.

Please tell us why you do as you do.

DL

Passive I suppose. I don't have the inclination to seek out those for conversion. I can't be bothered.

I am interested in personal growth first, then share it with all others. To trap anyone with words on anything, would be a silly ego thing to do in an already over ego world.

I do respect all atheists, theist and all those people in-between equally. When the World and Universe is 99% unknown to each one of us, I have no doubt no one can claim there is a God or not. Unless they are dead and experiencing it in the spiritual world and even for the World champion of Atheist Richard Dawkins , he is not 100% sure God does not exist.

I am spiritual sided and can ensure you I have an adult view of this world after touring every continent and studied each of their cultures.
If your ultimate goal is to survive, seven billion have done that in this over populated world. Now!!! loving what you do for most waking hours of your life, now that’s thriving in life.

He is 99.99% certain.

You interest me. I don't meet many people who claim to be "aggressive atheists" most of them just want people to shut up and let them live their lives. Yours is a very interesting position indeed, their are certainly enough aggressive Christians out there, so it only seems fair. There is a part of me that thinks, "I want to see this person's skills" because logic and debate are so much fun for me. Then there's the part of me that doesn't have that much time.

I was wondering what you meant by "costs lives every second of every day." Do you really think Christianity kills more people than it saves? Does the net difference equal out to 31 million people a year?

He is 99.99% certain.

When I have doubt about anything, my mind will over focus on the problem and I will fail at that one thing, just about every time.

Dawkins 99.99 certain over the 99% unknown world and Universe he lives in. Well, we humans know very little about the 1% mass surface earth's crust about 6 km, deep, wow. Dawkins also claims to be deeply religious, but that’s another story he can dance around.

What chance does Dawkins have taking a spaceship, first to find out there maybe life on another planet does exist. So he can become one tiny step closer to the truth that God does not exist on that planet But I Doubt he will return with anything closer to the truth or have any proof. Because 90% of people already think there is God on this planet, unless he thinks all these people are delusional too, in which create a whole another can of worms.

I don't even think it's possible to be a passive troll.

So you do not actively seek theists out then?
You do not go to the more religious sites or post in here to dialog with those, if any, who are giving a theistic view?

I see what you're getting at. I don't post at any religious forums, so no, I don't seek them out. However, I do enjoy discussing the issues and like I say I will respond to opinions I find absurd or offensive. So I do occasionally respond to people on YouTube videos (I try to avoid this, because most people on YT are really stupid). So yeah, I am happy enough to put myself in positions where I am likely to encounter such arguments.
