Not-so-pseudo-science?
One of my university friends recently led a research team and predicted a number of sea-serpents that had "yet to be discovered".

This is of course in the realms of "cryptozoology", a pseudo-science that usually attracts creationists. My friend though is a staunch skeptic, an agnostic atheist, and is a postgraduate in evolutionary biology. He reckons cryptozoology is a fascinating subject that can calculate the likelihood of ancient mythical creatures being real (going on reported sightings, etc).

The paper they just published is already getting quite a bit of attention.

Also in possible not-so-pseudo-science news, cold fusion may be making a comeback:
