I do? Does that include quotes?

EDIT: How do you do a word count?

Kyu
Your word count is displayed at the top of each post (in the column your warning level and reputation is).

I know it is offtopic but I presume that includes quotes?

Oops - forgot about you EvF!

So, to summise...
1. Is God real If I have faith that he exists
2. What's the non empirical evidence, and how is it evidence

1. Yeah, I believe on faith, in something unprovable. That unprovable thing would in theory, exist. Yes.
2. The Bible is full of non empirical evidence. Would you consider that evidence, and if not, why not.

Like I've said before, there can be no provable (empirical) evidence. If there were then faith wouldn't be needed... we'd know. I think you EvF are still wanting provable evidence. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your standpoint: "I don't believe because I know of no evidence" doesn't then give you any right to comment on religion other than to say "I don't believe". You go on to say far more than that though, which is planting your flag, stating a case for which you have no reasoning.

I may have missed something, but can I ask, what 'evidence' or 'sense' do you use when you believe in god? Is it completely faith, or the end-product of at least some form of reasoning?

To respond to your 2 points:

1. You believe in something unprovable - God...why do you believe in him rather than countless other unprovable things that you DON'T believe...? I'm guessing it's because of '2.' that I'm about to come to....

2. Why don't I consider the 'non-empirical evidence' in the bible that you speak of, to be evidence? Because it's circular.

Getting evidence that got exists from a book that you can only count as real evidence if you assume it was written by an all knowing God in the first place? ...how can you assume that if you haven't got any evidence? Because it IS evidence because you assume it was written by God - that's the evidence for "God", that sort of thing, etc, etc.

How can you get evidence for a supernatural superbeing (a "God") from a book?

If I wrote a book would you consider that as evidence of God?

Do you consider any OTHER book evidence? Would you? Could you?

And if not...why not?.

Why/how is the bible evidence of God according to you? Seems circular logic to me?

Surprisingly I just did the math, and Kyu has a higher average word count per post than EvF Big Grin

I thought as much....he does have some very big posts....
Also though - I do have an awful lot of small posts as well as big posts.....

I have like a bunch of one or two sentence replies too....
My more informal and less serious posts tend to be a lot shorter and I don't sign 'EvF' at the end...

...My often larger posts therefore tend to be perhaps (a bit) more formal, they tend to be more serious and are often longer - or at least have the potential to be a lot longer - according to my own posting ways (they could possibily be a lot longer even if they were my more informal ones, but that just isn't the way I write.

Also I assume quoting stuff off the web counts?

I sometimes quote small amounts (and often type it up myself) - but pretty much every large post I type up is pretty much all my own words...

And it certainly is, unless specified otherwise...I don't plagiarise (hey that rhymed).

EvF

P.S: Oh well...at least i do have an overall word count of over 300,000 and nearly 2000 posts....

I WOULD be posting a lot more but my internet has been down for days, amongst other problems....

If I had my internet I would be 2000 posts by now no doubt, and then some.
