Pot is illegal. Most everyone I know is still smoking it anyway.
I'd say we've all gotten use to the wink-wink system we've got going. Why change it now? It's still going to happen.

But it should be legalised. Revenue raised by tax
would be astronomical.
There would be zero danger
of sexual assualt from johns.
Brothels would have twenty
four hour security. And money to be paid up front. All would
have regular health checks. Condoms would be a non negotiable
requirement. It would take all power away from pimps and restore the
self esteem of those who work in the profession. So no reason not to legalise
About the first bolded portion: I wonder where you got your statistics stating that many prostitutes are junkies. Not that I don't there are some out there, but there are also women who just enjoy sex and having the power over their own bodies.
About the second bolded portion: Just because sex is paid for upfront doesn't mean that there aren't some people out there that don't just like hurting women. Period. So saying that there would be zero danger is a bit fallacious.
I stated that many are junkies not all. And
fully accept that many women do choose that
profession. But there are just as many however
that do not. On your second point : it would be next
to impossible for a man to assault a prostitute in side a
brothel where there was twenty four hour security and video
cameras inside the room. And any man that tried would be facing
criminal charges because of the evidence provided by aforementioned
cameras. It would not necessarily reduce the desire of men to inflict pain
on women but at least those that attempted it would quickly realise their error

There wouldn't be cameras inside of the rooms. Of that much, I am nearly certain.

there are cameras in the VIP rooms at strip clubs. no sex going on, but they have them to protect the girls. Since there is actual physical contact, I would assume there are cameras too.

How would they be protected? A John could choke the life out of a girl and no one would know till he was already gone. Men are never happy about being taped with a stripper on their lap, I assure you. That doesn't stop them from going in there and getting straddled. There is a sign with big bold letters that inform the men about the cameras. What kind of brothel owner would be more concerned with cameras hurting business, than the protection of their girls, and their own liability? I would think in a brothel, where there is things of a even more graphically physical nature, there would be cameras to monitor the interaction for, if nothing else, keeping their own noses clean. You'd likely have no girls to work there if one of your girls got fucked up.
If men want some nookie from the fine ass bitch who has been teasing them for 30 minutes in the lounge, I don't think a little bullshit security camera is going to stop them.

They already have them in Nevada so
that a situation arising can therefore be
dealt with immediatedly. The women can
refuse a man any time even after payment
and no reason has to be given. He can choose
another woman or be refunded and leave. They
can be filmed all the time during the sex act which
is for reasons of both security and voyeurism and does
not bother anyone. They are also examined beforehand to
check for any sexually transmitted diseases. The women have
regular health checks too. Money is paid upfront. The women pay
tax on their earnings as well. And actually enjoy what they do for a living

It is easier for a junkie to get a job as a prostitute than a job that requires drug testing. The illegality of it also promotes the use of drugs from the pimps to control their women.
Fortunately I reread the bass-akwards question and voted right.
