I don't think it's Americans fault either.

I would blame.... Money. As money influences, and money creates propaganda, and that effects Americans information. If we were told, Vote for this guy he will fix the economy, we would(why would our leaders lie to us?), unless the person possesses critical thinking skills, but that is not taught in American classrooms for the most part.

It is the Americans, the apathetic majority to be more exact. Our constitution gives us (the people) the power to remove every single politician every four years and replace them with new people not controlled by big business or the federal reserve.

From the day that they are elected, politicians do what ever they like and two weeks before the next election, they do something superficially positive and the apathetic majority start cumming in their pants and cannot wait to put the same dicks back into office that they bitched about for the last two or four years. Take GW for example.

Most of these apathetic Americans do not even know who their representatives are or what they are doing, but they keep putting them back in office and start bitching again.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

Well lots of Americans are apathetic, I agree with that. But I do think it is the nature of America to breed ignorance and be very anti-intellectual, which I would correlate with being apathetic to politics. Which creates these mobs of uninformed people voting for the same guy over and over again.

Hey, we solved that illiteracy issue. We changed the test.

No child left behind!!!!!

Yeah for real, way to just lower the bar.

People are fatter... eh just change what "fat" is. Same concept.

Reheeealy

Problem with democracy; you vote for the person put in front of you by the party who wants his/her cash. You don't control who runs for democrats or republicans.
Also, it appears, as a nation, that you put a lot into religion, J.D's, MBA's, etc, as if any of them matter.

In the UK, out of 615 ish politicians, 10% are lawyers, 1% doctors, 14% are teachers(up to uni level), 19% businessmen, 4% civil servant etc. The rest are white collar workers, farmers, miners etc, a decent mix.
And don't any of you dare big up the JD or MBA.

Two words.

Santorum, Bush.

There are a lot of inherent issues with a democracy. No argument here, but that is all we have to work with. And I did mention Bush. (GW)

The politicians have made a career out of politics and that is not the way it is supposed to be. Our government no longer represents the people. For quite some time now.

57 Lawyers, 1 atheist. Speaks volumes doesn't it.

wait..there is an atheist in office in america?

You must be lying.

I know why politics in the US dont work. because it is Absurd. there is no one universal politic that humanity inately tends to... unless you want to count anarchy. I personally dont even count that.

Politics is a free for all that ruins everyones lives.

Pete Stark is only 'out' atheist in the US, but given there are 535 politician, law of averages says there must be more, but are rightly scared to out themselves. Also Stark is in California, not Oklahoma.
