RE: Science will surely destroy the planet

This rock could be hanging in two chunks orbiting each other and it wouldn't have been "destroyed". The only thing we're ever talking about when we go the doomsday route is our own destruction. Self absorbed and self-important bullshit.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I have to say that Lucy's point is well-taken. Except, it will probably be some religious fuckwit ( with or without a towel wrapped around his head ) who does it in order to facilitate some fantasy of his own devising.
"Delivery systems" are irrelevant. You can put it in a truck and drive it wherever you want.
Serious fissionable bomb-making material is highly dangerous and making it in the privacy of your own home seems a pipe-dream. But this shit is out there and like almost anything else all you really need to get it is money. The jihadists or their nutty xtian pals the dominionists already have money.

Just one overarching one -- considering that I joined your ridicu-fucking-lous premise together so people can obviously see the disconnect --
What the hell is this garbage doing here and how long did it take you to ball it up?
The entire point of how you named this thread and wrote the content is to serve as a 'loaded' question showing that 'science' is somehow not as pure or is as bad as something else (noting you're a self declared cosmic jewish zombie death cultist, that 'something' is probably your cocksucking sand god).
This is not only a waste of space, but I'm surprised you could even draw in a breath properly without inhaling your own shit, as I can only figure you got this far by sticking your head where the sun don't shine.
I, personally, hope you don't stay around long at all. There are more where the likes of you came from (despite all reason to the contrary telling people to smother said likes in the cradle).

Science, to me, is everything. It answers questions. It gives hope through medicine, technology, space exploration. It gave us answers on how we got here (yes Darwin). It makes life easier, i can talk to you lot who are mostly 4000 miles away because of the internet, which is also science. I can get to work by car, thank you science. If i feel a bit depressed i can call my girlfriend from anywhere, thank you science. It gives people hope of better things in their lifetimes. Religion gives a feeble promise of immortality in a future unproven life, through obedience .
Science doesn't fly planes into buildings or start crusades.

Er, no. "Science" wants to fly the planes AROUND the buildings. It's allah/jesus freaks who want to fly into them.

Not quite. Crossing country borders with a WMD in a truck is not exactly cake. The reason I brought up delivery systems is that for a "chain reaction" to start, it would have to look like it was launched by another country or actually be launched into another country.

Science is progress. Science gives loonies the tools to kill millions, yes, but it doesn't create large enough numbers of loonies to end the world. Religion does that. You keep your loony religious xtians under control, and I assure you, there will be no armageddon from science.
