RV Living
What do you guys think about living in an RV?

Dropping off the grid, getting out of this 9-5 office job bullshit, and actually living for once.

I don't hold money as something special and I don't care about accumulation of it. I have lots of money, it was easy to get, but I don't feel like I have really lived. I don't care for a 2500sqft home, I don't want a yacht, I don't want a Lamborghini. So why do I need to keep making more and more money.

So basically living mobile going from city to city checking out new and interesting things all the time. And work part-time to pay for gas and other expenses. Also a great way to meet new people and experience new jobs.
Or always work online or do consulting or something. And living in an rv you don't really need to make a ton of money. Rent is the biggest money drain.

Whenever it gets old or too much, I can always return to the 9-5 life.

Campgrounds with electrical and water hookups can be pricy. It might not be all that cheep unless you’re willing to really go off grid.

I do computer networking so my skills are universal, all Ethernet networks around the world are basically the same.(with a bachelors degree in info tech) Also good at programming and can learn just about anything.
A few solar panels on the roof with backup wind/gas if need to, should provide ample electricity.

Yeah the plan would be to move around finding different types of work to keep the adventure going. Or find some online business to get into or do remote consulting or pc repair/network setup for small businesses, then once I have them set-up and get my pay, its off to another place, or go fly to another country and do some backpacking. No full time job holding me back or keeping trips to 2 weeks or whatever.

Or work part-time as a bartender or anything. The options are limitless.
Then eventually pick up a piece of land and then do whatever with that piece of land.

At 20-ish to 30-ish,fantastic idea! Over 40,lunacy. Yes, I've done it, traveling through the state of Western Australia, which is about 1/3 of the size of the contiguous USA.( I was 35 at the time) Have also back packed through Ireland and Scotland, and had a MUCH better time. (I was 53 )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote:Western Australia (abbreviated as WA[4]) is a state of Australia, occupying the entire western third of the Australian continent. It is bounded by the Indian Ocean to the north and west, the Great Australian Bight and Indian Ocean to the south,[5] the Northern Territory to the north-east and South Australia to the south-east. Western Australia is Australia's largest state and the second largest subnational entity in the world. It has 2.3 million inhabitants (10% of the national total), 85% of whom live in the south-west corner of the state.
