My aunt sent me a long list of text messages. She informed me the reason I suffered in my marriage (I am divorced from an extremely abusive marriage) is because my faith was not strong enough. I was essentially not good enough for god to be able to save me. But that doesn't mean give up. That means try harder to be the woman god desires me to be.
I typed a response about her getting fucked in the ass by god. But I deleted it along with her messages.
It's so pathetic to believe in an all knowing all powerful god who hides from you and then punishes you for not being able to see him clearly.
Ugh

Yes, I once told a religious friend to fuck off and take his primitive beliefs with him.

On an episode of the Thinking Atheist, Seth reads an email about a woman who lost her baby to a miscarriage and he aunt phoned her and told her she deserved it for not believing in god.

Vile individuals like this, frankly, deserve a punch in the mouth.

This made me cry a little. People wrapped up in their religion can't even see the pain they cause. I've been there. I can't tell the people that I love how they break my heart over and over. I wish I was in a place where I could say, dude, this is emotional abuse. You're hurting me. I wish I could just tell them. I should probably just change my number. It's depressing. I wish they cared about my mental health enough and loved me enough to just leave me be. I don't want hear it, even if they were right they can see it hurts me. FML I'm out. Ttyl tmw guys.

Wow, but I would not allow it to effect me. I would just move on. I hate people who believe you should endure abuse for some religious purpose.

Religious people love abuse I guess.

Maybe I'm too vocal, which would explain my long list of alienated friends, but if someone starts crap like that with me I push back. I've literally had nose-to-nose screaming matches with people I've called out as idiots or, in my own works, self absorbed, small minded fuckwits, whether it's on religion or something else we disagree on.

I honestly think that keeping it to yourself can be unhealthy. You don't need to insult them, just confront them and tell them what they're saying is hurtful and tell them why. If they're truly caring they'll relent, if they're not they'll keep on with it and you can let them know their actions aren't appreciated and you'll cut off communications if they keep it up.

As the old saying says, it separates the wheat from the chaff (sp?): real friends from fake friends. The bible says to not be unequally yoked. Take that passage to heart: get rid of the idiots.

Why do you feel you can't tell them that?

The best way to piss off a self-righteous Christian is to throw their immorality in their face, short of that; insulting their belief in such a petty god is a great follow up punch.

They don't give a shit, they think they're doing you (the dirty, atheist, hellfire bound sinner) a favor in the long run and are willing to say, and sometimes do, whatever it takes to save your soul by "washing you in the blood of Christ" as they like to say here in TN.

Fucking blood cult. Angry
