Can I request a temp Ban for a month?

Is calling yourself out and trying to flame yourself into getting banned a bannable offence? Tongue

I feel like mods and former mods are trolling me and when I respond in kind. I get warned.  Here is an example:

I am not an idiot and she knows it. She doesn't like my views so she chooses to demonize me.  That pissed me off an in the heat of anger, I respond in kind.  Next time I log on, my warning level is increased.  Would have been nice to have gotten a PM as to why but I am pretty sure it was that exchange.

I can't win here, so perhaps it is just better to take a break and let things chill off.

Surprising how easy it is to just PM an admin and have your request granted, without making such a public mess over it...

Yes, let's give people the attention they crave. It's not a lot of work for us, and it makes them happy Tongue

You are, and she overlooked it most of the time out of politeness.

I wouldn't exactly call myself obsessive or addicted to af.org or facebook, but I do check both multiple times a day.  I might not always post, but I do check them.  And last year when work got really crazy and a deadline came in that I had to buckle down and hit I didn't ask for a ban to prevent myself from logging into af.org, nor did I shut down my fb to prevent myself from checking it, I just exercised self-control and didn't check them as often, and when I did checked them I gave myself time limits and told myself I wouldn't respond to posts that could suck me into long, drawn out conversations.

It's really not that hard to do this - unless you have an obsessive personality disorder of some kind (and if that's the case seek professional help).

What Heywood's request sounds like to me is the kid who wants to storm off with his ball, but also wants to look victimized by everyone else not letting him take the ball with him when he leaves.

If you want to take a break, just take one.  There's no need to make such a public spectacle of this - which leads me to conclude that the public spectacle is calculated and part of Heywood's whole plan.  Dodgy

We stopped issuing bans on request some time ago, because when a valued member wanted a temp ban and we did it, people would not stop asking why such person was banned.
